Whether it was down to the slip of an itchy finger or not, the official website
for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 opened earlier this week,
but Namco Bandai has only more recently formally announced the
publisher’s next fighter in the latest edition of Japanese manga
magazine, Shonen Jump.
Details are slim at the moment, but information extracted
from the pages of Shonen Jump reveal a 2013 release date for Ultimate
Ninja Storm 3, as well as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as key platforms.
CyberConnect2 will once again handle development duties for Namco Bandai, and the game will take us up to the franchise’s story arc involving the war and Nine Tails Invasion of Naruto Shippuden. Boss battles named so far include enemies such as ‘Minato Vs. the Masked Man’ and ‘Third Hokage Vs. the Nine Tailed Demon Fox.’
Expect a formal Western announcement with screens (and possibly a teaser trailer) a little later in the year.
